New financial support package for Victorian businesses

The Victorian government has announced a range of grants to compensate businesses for the 5-day lockdown that occurred during February. If your business is eligible for compensation, it’s important to arrange it as soon as possible to help with your cash flow.
There are four components to the new package.

1. The Business Costs Assistance Program
Businesses with no staff or an annual payroll less than $3 million can apply for a $2,000 grant to cover the loss of perishable food and/or cancelled bookings during the lockdown.
You can apply for this grant here.

2. The Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund
A one-off payment of $3,000 is available to licensed venues that received a $2,000 payment from this fund during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns in Victoria.
You don’t have to apply for this grant. If you received the 2020 grant, you will automatically receive it.

3. The Victorian Accommodation Support Program
Accommodation providers are entitled to one-off payments of either $2,250 or $4,500, depending on how many cancelled bookings they had during the February lockdown in Victoria.
You can register your interest for this government support program here.

4. The Travel Voucher Scheme
The Travel Voucher Scheme will make 40,000 vouchers available to Victorians soon to encourage travel and tourism within Melbourne. An additional 10,000 vouchers will be made available for regional Victoria.
