New digital funding program for Victorian small businesses
The Victorian government has recognised the importance of businesses boosting their digital capabilities as part of their post-COVID-19 recovery plans. They have announced a $20 million ‘Small Business Digital Adaptation Program’. It is designed to encourage small businesses to trial new software by providing a $1,200 reimbursement for new purchases or subscriptions (or significant upgrades).
What are the eligibility requirements?
Your business must:
operate in Victoria,
have an Australian Business Number (ABN) that you have held since 13 September 2019,
have been registered for the GST on 13 September, 2020,
be a sole trader, micro or small business, and
apply before 31 March 2021 for your new or significantly upgraded software purchase or subscription (or ideally earlier than that date, before the $20 million in program funding is exhausted).
How can I register for the program?
You can register for the program online if you meet the eligibility requirements. If your application is accepted, you can also access workshops to trial software before you buy or subscribe.
You will be eligible to receive your $1,200 reimbursement after six weeks of using your new or upgraded software.
